Woodland Park Zoo, founded in 1899, is a 92-acre zoological garden located just 10 minutes north of downtown Seattle. Exhibiting nearly 300 animal species and with thousands of trees and plants, the zoo is a leader in wildlife conservation, from the tiny Partula snail of Tahiti, to the African elephant, the largest living land animal.
