History: On May 22, 1990, the third child of the Blake family was welcomed in with open arms. Elizabeth Anastasia, named first for her mother’s favorite heroine and second for the last daughter of the last Imperial Family of Russia, was due to have a blessed childhood. Though all of the Blake children led wonderful lives, they were all brought up with the utmost care- their English mother brought them up as proper ladies and gentlemen and their Russian descended father had his own idea of strict discipline and manners. From this point on, Elizabeth, more commonly known as Anastasia, was bound to be the quiet, shy person she is today.
After elementary school and such, Mr. and Mrs. Blake began to grasp their own ideas of moving away, out of England and across the pond to America. Of course, this did not sit well with any of their children. Charlie was terribly upset that he would have to leave behind all of his friends- for, he was the oldest, and therefore according to him he had the most friends and moving would be doing the greatest injustice to him. Jane was far less perturbed than her brother, but still unhappy. She knew better than to say anything, so she just took it with a grain of salt. Ten year old Nastya, however, was only curious, and made the mistake of asking ‘why couldn’t we stay home?’ She never made that mistake again.
And so, the Blake family moved to Seattle after some very good years in England. Nothing extraordinary seemed to happen in Seattle, though nothing special had ever really happened in England either. When Charlie graduated, he went back to Brighton without telling his parents, which, of course, caused a huge uproar in the household. By the time Mr. and Mrs. Blake had found out, though, Charlie was already back in Brighton, living with some of his old friends. Jane moved to New York once she graduated secondary school to go to New York University as well as try her hand as a writer. This left Nastya all alone, left to live out the remainder of her secondary school career with her parents, who were rarely home anymore. They’d never been home much, anyway, what with Papa being a lawyer and Mother being a doctor.
All of the relatively boring years have now led up to this- perhaps Elizabeth Anastasia Blake’s perfect time to make something happen. But, perhaps not.
Random childhood memory: “When I was about six years old, I had a little goldfish named Fishy. I won him at the fair with my best friend and he lived on top of my dresser. Really, I never knew whether it was a girl fish or a boy first, but I suppose I wanted a boy. Anyway, my brother Charlie was terribly jealous that I was allowed to have a pet, even if it was just a fish, so he got it in his mischievous mind that it would be a really brilliant idea to flush Fishy down the toilet. So, that was exactly what he did and I cried and cried about it to Mother, who punished him for a week. I got a new fish.”
Random Memory: “Last year, I flew out to New York City to visit Jane. I was awfully worried that I wouldn’t make it there alive- it was my first time flying alone, you see. But, I did and Janie came to pick me up at the airport and helped me get settled in with her in her apartment off campus. She lives in this tiny little thing, but I suppose it’ll do for an aspiring writer such as herself. Janie took me shopping that weekend and we went to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and it was so much fun. I might have to do that again sometime.”
Random Fact: “I’m named after Elizabeth Bennet and Anastasia Romanov- unfortunately, I don’t think I live up to either of my namesakes, the witty one or the prankster.”

Sample Post: [modernized Pride & Prejudice intro]
Dinner parties had never really been up Elizabeth Bennet's alley. In fact, they were about the last things up her alley at all. While she preferred a canvas and a set of watercolors to anything else, there were those times in life, wherein attendance of a dinner party was necessary. Tonight, apparently, was one of those nights. She'd begged and pleaded near the point of having a tantrum for Jane not to make her go to the stupid thing commemorating the company she barely worked for's excellent year of whatever they did, and yet, here she was, frantically scrubbing her long, dark brown hair with her favorite shampoo in an attempt to get all traces of paint removed from it. The whole process of paint removal, however, was taking much longer than need be, as the most ridiculous sister in the Bennet clan was in the shower downstairs, using all the hot water. Of course, no one had bothered to tell Elizabeth that Lydia was in the shower before she got in, so she found out the hard way- the way which involved a lot of cold water and absolutely no pressure at all. As awful as it probably sounded, her youngest sister was high up on the list of reasons why Elizabeth so detested the sporadic visits to their parents' house.
Fingers crossed that all the paint would be out of her hair from that morning's excursions in painting the creek right outside the house Elizabeth pulled herself from the shower, wrapping a worn pink towel around her. The evening was already turning into a nightmare and it was hardly a time which constituted evening. A quick look in the mirror proved that all the paint had, indeed, been washed from her hair and face, thankfully, and now she could cross off one thing on her mental to-do list. Unfortunately she still had to dress, blow dry her hair, fix her hair up in some sort of style and put on makeup. She half hoped that she wouldn't be ready in time to go, though she knew her parents would make her go celebrate her sister whether she was ready or not. It seemed to her a better idea just to be ready, then, if she knew there was no getting out of things. She did love Jane, but honestly, this was probably the stupidest way of showing it that anyone could come up with.
Once in her room and changed into the little black creation that was to be her dress, Elizabeth, black high heeled shoes slung over her shoulder, made her way back into the bathroom. Her dress was a short little thing with thin straps- simple, yet sophisticated and, as a bonus, at least she could show off her legs. Well, really, at least she had decent legs. She very well could have gotten her mother's legs and then there would be nothing good at all about this party.
After a while in the bathroom, the difficult part was over. Elizabeth had decided to go with a simple sort of thing for her hair, just loosely curled and not too much makeup. That would at least ensure that she was not the Bennet sister making the entire family look ridiculous. No, nobody could take that title away from Lydia. She truly was the queen of all things ridiculous. And to rub salt in the wound, at 15 years old, she was terribly desperate to find her king. She had really, truly outdone herself, and even Mrs. Bennet, who was usually no judge of the silly and foolish, was a bit perplexed by her youngest daughter's behavior.
When the entire Bennet clan was ready to depart, they did, the three youngest sisters going in one car with their parents, Jane and Elizabeth going in another car together. They arrived at the party nearly ten minutes later, and Elizabeth, after the conversation concerning Jane's boss they'd had in the car, still didn't like the idea of this party much.
The inside of the building was lavishy decorated and full, as she expected it would be, of overdressed, snobby, conceited people. Elizabeth would need a lot more than a drink to get through tonight...
